Spring 2007: Did not participate in any events during the season as a Seminole...finished in second place in the women's individual division of the 21st Annual PGA Minority Golf Championship at The PGA Club...finished tied for first with Georgette Rolle of Texas Southern but lost on the first playoff hole as Rolle birdied and Young parred the only hole the pair needed to play in the extra session of golf to determine the winner...made up three strokes in the final round as she carded a six-over par 78 in the final round as compared to Rolle's 81...after carding an 86 in the first round of the event, Young carded scores of 77 and 78 to move from third after the first round to second after the second round and into a tie for third after the third round...during the tournament she was awarded a $1,000 academic scholarship as presented by State Farm and the PGA Minority Golf Championship...she was one of ten student-athletes who participated in the event to receive the scholarship which will be donated in her name to Florida State University.

Spring 2008: A redshirt season and did not participate in any events as a Seminole... won the independent women's division title at the 22nd Annual PGA Minority Golf Championship at the PGA Golf Club on May 11. Young, who lost the championship in a playoff in 2007, earned the 2008 title with a nine stroke victory over Alexis Garduno of Old Dominion University...Young won the event with her play in the final two rounds of the three-round event. She took the lead after shooting a 76 in the second round and carded a 77 in the third round for a 235 total. Young was in third place after the first 18 holes as she carded an 82. She was three strokes behind Garduno after one round but seized the lead during the second round and never looked back.

Fall 2008: A member of the team but did not participate in any events.

Spring 2009: Played in a career-high four tournaments as she earned her way into the Seminoles' starting line-up for the first time in her career...played in four events - the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, the UCF Challenge, the Betsy Rawls Invitational and the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic - as a member of the Seminoles' starting five...best outing of the season came at the Lady Puerto Rico as she averaged 77.33 strokes in three rounds...she finished in a tie for 30th place in the individual standings, carded a 76 in the final round, established her career-best for 36 holes (157) and helped the Seminoles to an eight place finish in the strong national field...was tied as the Seminoles' second highest finisher and was only five strokes away from finishing at the top of the Seminoles' leader board...played in as many events during the season (four) as she did in the first four years of her career...carded a third round score of 89 at the UCF Challenge...averaged 80.44 strokes in nine rounds during four tournaments in her final season.

Before Florida State: Graduated from Stanton College Prep in Jacksonville in 2005...was the Gateway Conference girls' golf champion as a sophomore, junior and senior...a three-time district champion who competed in the state championship tournament her senior season...an All Gateway Conference First-Team selection in four years during her prep career...earned four varsity letters and was captain of the girls' golf team in her final three years of high school...led Stanton in low scoring average during each of her four years on the varsity...was one of eight golfers in northeast Florida to join a Division I women's golf team in 2005 - the highest number of junior golfers moving onto the Division I collegiate level in local history...teamed with Mark McCumber in the Inaugural First Tee Open at Pebble Beach in conjunction with the PGA Tour...teamed with McCumber to shoot a six-under par round.
