On Milan: One of the Seminoles' three upperclassmen who will certainly compete for a role in the starting line-up from the start of the season...gained incredible experience as a sophomore as she appeared in seven events including her second career ACC Championship and her first career NCAA Regional Championship...has helped lead the Seminoles to two NCAA Championship appearances which brings Florida State's streak to a school record eight consecutive NCAA appearances...has played in two ACC Championship tournaments...carded the best single round score of her career with an even par score of 70 in the third round of the Schooner Fall Classic in the fall of 2013...her career best for 36 holes (146) best finish (tied for 3rd) came in the Florida Challenge in Spring of 2013...her 70 in the third round of the Schooner Fall Classic in 2013 allowed her to finish with a career low tournament score of 220...earned her career best finish of tied for 3rd at the Florida Challenge in the Spring of 2013...back-to-back top 15 finishes in the Spring of 2013 with her tied for 3rd place finish at the Florida Challenge and a tied for 14th place finish at the Florida State Match-Up at Southwood Golf Course in Tallahassee...won the individual championships at the West Palm Beach Collegiate Amateur and the Kissimmee Collegiate Amateur as part of the Hurricane Collegiate Amateur Tour during the summer of 2013...has achieved at an extremely high level both academically and athletically as a high school standout...a standout contributor for the Seminoles in the classroom and on the golf course...named to the 2012 and 2013 ACC Academic Honor Roll...averages 77.87 strokes in 38 rounds during 14 tournaments during her first two seasons as a Seminole...
Fall 2011: Played in the first two events of her career and helped the Seminoles to a third place team finish at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic at the University of Oklahoma in the first tournament of her career...also played in the Landfall Tradition as she played in two of the first three events during the first season of her career...best event of her first year came in the first tournament of her career as she carded career bests for single round score (72 in the third round) and a tournament score (226) in earning her career best finish of tied for 26th place...was in a tie for 23rd place after the first round and jumped up in the standings by 27 positions in the final round as she carded her career best since round score of 72 in the final round of the event...averaged a career low 76.83 strokes in six rounds during two tournaments during the first season of her career.
Spring 2012: Played in a career high-tying five events including her first career ACC Championship as she helped Florida State earn a bid to the 2012 NCAA East Regional Championship...played as a member of the Seminoles' starting line-up as the Seminoles earned two top three team finishes and four top 10 team finishes during the regular season...helped the Seminoles earn a fourth place team finish in her first career ACC Championship...the Seminoles finished in third place in the team standings at both the Lady Gator Invitational and the Bryan National Collegiate...finished in a tie for 40th place in the individual standings in her first career ACC Championship...played her best round in the event in third round as she carded a four over par score of 76...earned top 50 individual finishes at both the Lady Gator Invitational and at her first career ACC Championship...scored a 75 in the first round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic...averaged 78.79 strokes in 14 rounds during five events...
Fall 2012: Earned her way into the starting line-up for the final two events of the season - the Mercedes Benz Collegiate and the Landfall tradition...finished tied as the Seminoles' leader at the season ending Landfall Tradition as she finished in a personal-season best tied for 36th place in the one-round rain-shortened event...came within one stroke of tying her career best for a single round with a 1 over par score of 73 in the first round of the Mercedes Benz Collegiate...carded a four over par score of 76 in the first and only round of the Landfall Tradition...the final two rounds of the event were cancelled because of rain...averaged 77.00 strokes in four rounds during two events...
Spring 2013: Played in a career high tying five events including the ACC and NCAA West Regional Championships...helped lead the Seminoles into the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive time in her career and for the school-record tying eighth consecutive season...tied her career best as she carded a 72 in the first round of the Florida Challenge...also established career bests for her lowest 36 hole score (72+74=146) and earned the best finish of her career (tied for third) at the Florida Challenge...was the Seminoles' overall leading finisher at the Florida Challenger as she played as an individual while Olivia Hullert led Florida State's starting line-up with a tied for fifth place finish...earned the first two top 15 individual finishes of her career as she finished in a career best tied for third at the spring season opening Florida Challenge and tied for 14th place in the inaugural Florida State Match-Up...played as an individual participant in both of those events...her play in the Florida Challenge and the Florida State Match-Up as an individual necessitated her earning the opportunity to move into the Seminoles' starting line-up...took advantage of that opportunity as she played in three most high profile events of the season for the Seminoles - the Bryan National Collegiate, the ACC Championship and the NCAA West Regional Championship...helped Florida State to a second consecutive fourth place finish in the team standings of the ACC Championship...carded consecutive scores of 73 in the second and third rounds of the Florida State Match-Up...averaged 77.64 strokes in 14 rounds during a career-high tying five events...
Fall 2013: Enjoyed the best season of her career as she finished with a career low 75.50 stroke average...was one of four Seminoles who played in all four events...tied for fourth on the team with her career low stroke average...led the team with three rounds scored at par or better - a 1 under par 71 in the second round of the Mo Morial Invitational, an even par 70 in the third round of the Schooner Fall Classic and an even par 72 in the first round of the Alamo Invitational...carded the best single round score of her career with an even par score of 70 in the third round of the Schooner Fall Classic...her 70 in the third round of the Schooner Fall Classic allowed her to finish with a career low tournament score of 220...finished in a season best tied for 17th place in the individual standings at the season opening Mo Morial Classic...was in a tie for 15th place in the individual standings of the Mo Morial after a second round score of 71 and a 36 hole total of 149...her tied for 17th place finish after her third round score of 74 ranks as the third top 20 individual finish of her career...her score of 71 in the second round of the Mo Morial was tied for the third best individual score vs. par of the season amongst her teammates...her career best 220 tournament score at the Schooner Fall Invitational was the Seminoles' fourth best tournament score of the season...earned a pair of top 25 individual finishes - tied for 17th at the Mo Morial and tied for 22nd at the Schooner Fall Classic marking the second consecutive season she had earned a pair of top 25 individual finishes...averaged a career low 75.50 strokes in 12 rounds during four tournaments...
Before Florida State: Graduated from Steinbrenner High School in 2011...ranked 38th nationally among high school golf seniors in 2011...named the Casey Most Valuable Golfer of the Year as a senior as awarded by the Hillsborough County School Board...a two time area Player of the Year by the St. Petersburg Times and the Tampa Tribune...earned All Hillsborough County First Team honors four times by the St. Petersburg Times and the Tampa Tribune...four time district champion in each of her high school years - as a freshman at Sickles and as a sophomore, junior and senior on the Steinbrenner varsity...the regional champion as a sophomore in 2009 while a sophomore at Sickles High School with a score of 64...earned Western Conference First Team honors in each of her four prep seasons...led the Warriors to the first state championship appearance in school history with a runner up finish in the regional championships in 2010...attended Sickles as freshman before transferring to and graduating from Steinbrenner...earned eight top 10 finishes in 13 AJGA events...a three-time member of the Junior Florida Cup team and holds the record for nine holes (31) and season scoring average (35).
Personal: Born Nov. 20, 1992...Alex is the daughter of Heidi and Christopher Milan...a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society)...graduated in 2011 as the valedictorian of her senior class with an unweighted grade point average of 4.0 and a 6.32 weight grade point average...one of 12 female students in the nation to be named a Hewlett Packard/National Junior Golf Association Scholastic All-American in 2010...before excelling as a golfer she was highly competitive in swimming, figure skating, volleyball , softball, tennis and studied four types of dance...led her AAU under 14 volleyball team to a third place finish in the state championships...also an avid water skier...major is finance...
