TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State students now have the opportunity to get rewarded simply for showing support for the school's men's and women's basketball teams.
The new Spear-It Rewards Program at FSU does just that; it rewards students for showing their Seminole spirit by showing up to all the basketball games at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
Now anytime an FSU student attends a men's or women's basketball game, he or she will receive a stamp on their own Spear-It Card. Each card can hold up to 12 stamps and those students that receive all 12 stamps are guaranteed a ticket to the biggest basketball game of the season in Tallahassee: the Jan. 14th ACC showdown between Florida State and North Carolina.
Another 12 stamps will also guarantee a ticket to the Feb. 12 game against Duke.
When students reach eight stamps on the way towards their 12 for the UNC and/or Duke games, they will be eligible for a free "Beat the Heels" and/or "Beat Duke" t-shirt.
Guaranteed tickets and t-shirts aren't the only things that will be given as rewards for supporting both basketball programs.
A digital camera and two stamps were awarded to a Spear-It Rewards member during the women's basketball team's win against Charlotte on Dec. 4 and a computer and one stamp were awarded to a member during the men's team's win against Charleston Southern on Dec. 5.
More exciting prizes are expected to be announced in the future so students are encouraged to join the Spear-It Rewards Program now and start attending both men's and women's games to accrue stamps.
The next opportunity to earn those stamps will be this Sunday when the men's team hosts UNC Greensboro at 2 p.m. Two stamps will be given those members that attend the game and another two will be allotted for attendance at the game against Loyola Marymount on Dec. 18.
The first chance to get stamps for being at a women's game will be Dec. 19 when Alabama A&M comes to town.
