TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - The Florida State women's basketball team heads back on the road for a big rivalry matchup with in-state foe Florida on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 5 p.m. at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Fla.

While the game will not be televised, fans who cannot attend can listen to all of the action on the radio at WNLS 1270 AM as well as through Seminoles.com. Play-by-play man Jonathan Schillace will once again be on the call with color analyst Melissa Bruner.

"This is always a fun rivalry, "Sue Semrau said heading into her 500th game as head coach at Florida State. "A lot of our players are from Florida and some of theirs are from Florida, so there are some bragging rights on the line. At the same time, I think both of us look at this as an opportunity to test ourselves early."

The `Noles (3-0) and Gators (3-1) meet in their annual rivalry matchup for the 74th time in series history. Overall, Florida leads the all-time series 42-31, but Florida State has won three of the last four matchups since the 2009-10 season.

Florida State defeated Florida last season 98-67 on Nov. 15, 2012, in Tallahassee. The 31-point win by the `Noles is the second-largest win over UF in program history, only eclipsed by a 42-point win (90-48) on Dec. 3, 1980.

In terms of margin of victory, Florida State is coming off a 51-point won over Prairie View A&M on Nov. 17. It is the ninth-largest win in program history and the second straight season FSU has defeated a team by 50+ points.

Thursday's matchup at Florida marks FSU head coach Sue Semrau's 500th game coached at Florida State. Since 1997-98, Semrau has built the `Noles into a perennial contender in the ACC while making 11 postseason appearances.

Florida State is looking to start 4-0 for the ninth time in school history. Under Head Coach Sue Semrau, the `Noles have started 4-0 six times while the two other times occurred in the 1981-82 and 1982-83 seasons.

FSU has generated 14.3 steals per game and totals 43 steals so far. Its 17 steals last game against Prairie View A&M was its most since recording 18 steals against Grambling on Dec. 15, 2012.

Florida State has outscored its first three opponents by 90 points. FSU has posted 90+ scoring margins in its first three games in back-to-back seasons, outscoring its 2012-13 opponents by 99 in the first three games.

True freshman Brittany Brown's 24 points scored in the last game against Prairie View A&M were the most by an FSU freshman (excludes redshirts) since former center Cierra Bravard had 25 against College of Charleston on Nov. 20, 2008. Brown leads the `Noles with 18 points per game, while redshirt sophomore guard Morgan Jones trails with 15.3 points per outing.

The `Noles have scored 126 points in the paint in just three games this season, a product of their aggressive offensive attack that focuses on getting to the rim. By comparison, opponents have totaled 64 points in the paint vs. FSU.

The Gators are coming off an 83-62 victory over Kennesaw State on Nov. 17. UF shot over 50 percent in the win with redshirt junior guard Kayla Lewis leading the team with 21 points and six rebounds in that contest.

Senior guard Jaterra Bonds leads the Gators with 18.5 points per game, last putting up 18 points while dishing out five assists and grabbing six rebounds in their previous game with Kennesaw State.

UF's lone loss of the season came at ACC opponent Virginia Tech, falling to the Hokies 71-59. The Gators carry an 18-game home win streak against non-SEC foes, with their last loss coming to Florida State on Nov. 17, 2009, by a 66-62 score.
