TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's basketball team faces inter-state rival Florida for the 73rd meeting in series history on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

This matchup with the Gators will stream live on ESPN3, while the contest can also be heard live on Seminoles.com and 100.7 FM WFLA. The game is the first of eight that are part of FSU's unprecedented partnership with ESPN that will have every conference game either on television or streamed live on ESPN3, in addition to games with Florida and Iowa (Nov. 28).

The Seminoles opened the season with a resounding 77-42 victory over Samford on Nov. 11 behind Chasity Clayton's career day (20 points, 18 rebounds) and the exciting play of point guards Morgan Toles and Cheetah Delgado.

"I really liked our energy and our momentum," head coach Sue Semrau said. "We played hard. There are a lot of things we need to do to get better, however. We'll continue to work on that as we prepare Florida, but's it's nice to get that first win under your belt.

FSU is welcoming a Florida team that finished 20-13 a year ago and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Gators hold a 42-30 advantage all-time in the series, but Florida State has won six of the last nine matchups, including three of the last four in Tallahassee.

"Two of the past three years it's been a two-to-three point game against Florida," Semrau said. "That's what these rivalry games come down to. It might not come down to who the best executed plays, but instead who dives on the ball first. Our team is very excited about the opportunity, and as a coaching staff, we are excited about the challenge."

The Seminoles are looking to avenge a 72-58 loss to the Gators in last season's matchup in Gainesville. All-SEC First Team forward Jennifer George led UF with 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting a year ago against the Garnet and Gold. Her return sets up a matchup between the 2011-12 leaders in double-doubles for both the SEC and the ACC. George had 15 last year, while FSU junior forward Natasha Howard tallied 12 double-doubles to pace the Noles' conference.

Deluzio's 100th Career Game
Redshirt senior Alexa Deluzio will be playing in her 100th career game on Thursday against the Gators. She scored 12 points off the bench in the season opener, and averaged 13.2 ppg last season. Deluzio ranks 24th in FSU history in points scored (1096) and fifth in three-pointers made (129).

Don't Forget It's Youth Night
Any fan 18 years old or under receives free admission to Thursday night's game.
