TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) - Florida State women's basketball's annual preview show, "First Look: Florida State Women's Basketball," will premiere on Thursday at 9 p.m. on SunSports throughout the state of Florida.
Produced by Seminole Productions, the 30-minute show will feature a sit-down interview with 15th-year head coach Sue Semrau as well as stories on preseason All-American Cierra Bravard, the return of former star player and current assistant coach Brooke Wyckoff and an outlook for the season.
The Noles open the 2011-12 campaign at the WBI TipOff Classic in Daytona Beach from Friday through Sunday. FSU kicks off the event against USF at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
Led by Bravard, who is also a preseason All-ACC First Team selection, Florida State is ranked No. 13 by in the preseason ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll and No. 14 in the Associate Press rankings.
The Garnet and Gold are coming off a 24-8 season and have been to seven straight NCAA Tournaments. In addition to Bravard, FSU also returns starters Alexa Deluzio, a junior guard, and Natasha Howard, a sophomore forward.
Junior forward Chasity Clayton and sophomore guard Tay'ler Mingo are slated to round out the starting five for the Noles after earning nods in FSU's only exhibition, a 98-46 win over Florida Southern on Saturday.
Clayton had a spectacular game against the Mocs, making 9-of-14 shots en route to 23 points.
