TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - With the official start of basketball season getting under way Friday the Florida State women's basketball team wasted little time taking to the court. The team practiced as soon as they possibly could Friday before hitting the floor again on Friday and Saturday.
"Each practice was a little better and today I definitely felt like we were back into it," head coach Sue Semrau said Sunday.
The Seminoles hit the practice courts at the Basketball Training Center for two hours Friday afternoon and then were right back to work Saturday morning for a three-hour segment.
Following Saturday's practice the Seminoles stopped by the Paws In Prison groups's dog walk to show their support for the group and to help walk some dogs as well.
Another practice session took place Sunday which really pleased head coach Sue Semrau. The practices had a different feel than the 10 warm up practices the team had before their trip to South Africa in August but they seemed to help the upperclassmen get ready for the new campaign.
"It was nice to have those practices as 9 of our 11 kids knew what to expect coming into this weekend," Semrau added. "I liked what I saw out there today and hopefully it keeps up on Tuesday."
The Seminoles will take a day off on Monday before practicing again on Tuesday with the exhibition opener less than two weeks away.
