Looking to return to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 or beyond, the Florida State women's basketball schedule is packed full of experienced opponents that will have the Seminoles ready for March. FSU's slate features 11 teams that played in the postseason last year, including nine NCAA Tournament squads and half of the 2007 Final Four.

Three of Florida State's conference games have already been tabbed for television. The first is the January 11 trip to 2006-07 regular season ACC Champion Duke at 7 p.m. The next is a 4 p.m. contest on February 3 at Georgia Tech and the final is a 1 p.m. affair on February 17 against North Carolina, who advanced to the Final Four.

"In addition to the always tough ACC schedule, our schedule brings the additional excitement with the first Women's Big Ten/ACC Challenge," FSU head coach Sue Semrau said. "We'll also be participating in two tournaments that will provide outstanding competition. Throw in a rematch of our Sweet 16 game with LSU as well as the trip to Texas A&M and I believe we have a great schedule this season that should prepare us for another outstanding postseason run."

Headlining the non-conference slate is a January 3 home game against another Final Four participant, LSU, who knocked the Seminoles out of the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers' 7 p.m. appearance marks their first trip to Tallahassee since the 1992-93 season. Florida State takes to the road to play Texas A&M on December 6. During the third week in January the Seminoles will travel to the Windy City to take part in the DePaul Invitational, November 15-18.

Florida State will head south for its other tournament, the FIU Sun and Fun Classic, December 29-30. The Seminoles open the tournament against Georgia then take on either Hostra or the host Golden Panthers, who will also be at the DePaul tournament.

The Seminoles open the conference schedule on January 6 at home against Virginia Tech at 2 p.m. Fellow ACC Sweet 16 team NC State comes to the Tucker Center on February 7 while Senior Day will be slated for March 1 against Clemson. FSU travels to 2006 NCAA Champion Maryland on February 24.

Florida State's season opener will be a historical one as it travels to Florida Gulf Coast University on November 9 for the Eagles' Division I debut. The home opener is set for November 11 against North Florida at 2 p.m. The Seminoles travel to in-state rival Florida on November 23, the night before the Florida State-Florida football game. The inaugural Women's Big Ten/ACC Challenge will see Florida State travel to Indiana on November 30 in a game that will be televised by the Big 10 Network.

In the month of the December, the Seminoles will travel to a pair of teams that advanced to the 2007 WNIT. Following the Indiana game, Florida State will play at Oakland on December 2. The Seminoles' last game before the holiday break will be a December 20 affair at UAB.

Two exhibition games are on the schedule for the Seminoles. The first is a 6 p.m. affair on Halloween Night with the second coming on November 5 at 7 p.m. Season tickets will go on sale in early October. www.seminoles.com
