Toles, Clayton Named to ACC Honor Roll

Aug. 6, 2013

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Morgan Toles and Chasity Clayton, two of the catalysts of Florida State's 23-win campaign in 2012-13, were named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll released by the conference office on Tuesday.

The Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.00 or better for the full academic year.

Toles, now a student assistant coach with the Seminoles, started all 33 games at point guard for the Noles last season, leading the team to a fourth-place finish in the ACC and to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Fayetteville, Ga., native averaged 5.4 points, 3.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds. She ranked 12th in the country in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.35) and her steady play at point guard helped FSU finish in the top 10 in the nation in scoring and field goal percentage. She is on track to graduate with a degree in sociology this spring.

Clayton, a four-year letterwinner for the Seminoles, collected Academic Honor Roll accolades for the second time. The Panama City, Fla., native averaged 9.5 points and 4.5 boards per game and shot 50 percent from the floor en route to earning ACC Sixth Player of the Year honors. One of the most athletic players ever to lace up for the Garnet and Gold, Clayton graduated in December 2011 with a bachelor's degree in family and child sciences. She became the 29th Nole ever to score 1,000 points in her career in 2012-13.
