The Florida State women's basketball team (17-6, 6-2) looks to rebound from Monday's loss at NC State when they host Georgia Tech (14-9, 5-4 ACC) Friday, February 9th at 7 p.m. at the Tucker Center. The game will be televised regionally, including FSN Florida.

"I think it was very easy for us to turn the page," FSU head coach Sue Semrau said. "It's always hard going on the road in the ACC and we hadn't had an ACC road loss all year. Playing without our starting backcourt tandem with Shante Williams out really gave us a different look and I didn't like the way we responded. I thought we did a better job in the second half but it makes this game really, really big for us."

FSU has been victorious in the last two meetings with Georgia Tech but the Yellow Jackets have won the last two times they've played FSU in Tallahassee including a 59-58 victory in the 2004-05 season. The last three games between FSU and Georgia Tech have been decided by five points or less. Both the Seminoles and the Yellow Jackets are coming off road losses. Tech is 5-5 on the road, including 2-3 in ACC road play.

"Georgia Tech is a very good basketball team," Semrau said. "They've got a lot of maturity with some players who have been around a very long time and they're doing a very good within their system but I do like the way we match up with them as well. They're fast, they're strong but I like the way we match up with them."

The contest will be the first of three straight home games for Florida State. FSU is 8-1 at home this season, including 2-1 in ACC home games. "It's so much nicer to in the friendly confines and to have three straight home games coming up," Semrau said. "It's huge for us but none bigger than Friday night. In the ACC, everyone's extremely tough and so we just look at each game as they come but again, we're excited to be at home for all three."
