Florida State (15-4, 4-0 ACC) plays host to the AP No. 1 ranked team for the eighth time in school history when the Seminoles host No. 1 Duke (20-0, 5-0 ACC) Thursday, January 25th at 7 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center. The game will be televised on Sun Sports.

"Anytime you can host the number one team in the county that's also undefeated, it's a huge challenge for us," FSU head coach Sue Semrau said. "We just really worked on our game plan the last couple of days and we will have a game plan set and will be ready to tackle it."

The first 1,000 fans will receive women's basketball license plate frames and FSU rally towels will be on the seats of early arriving fans. It's also FSU Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night as all FSU faculty/staff members can receive free admission to the game by showing their FSU ID at the gate.

The Seminoles are a perfect 7-0 at home this season and are beating opponents by an average of 17.6 points per game in games played in the Donald L. Tucker Center. FSU is coming off a loss vs. No. 16 Georgia in which the Seminoles led by 10 with 5:18 to play but fell 70-65.

"That's something with our young players that we need to understand that there's going to be players in our league that can take over toward the end of a game and we have to answer that," Semrau said. "Tasha Humphrey did that up at the Georgia game. We had an opportunity to put them away earlier. It really isn't as much at the end of the game but taking advantage of the opportunities we have ealier in a game to extend a lead."

Duke holds a 25-7 series advantage over Florida State. The series dates back to FSU's first season in the ACC - 1991-92. FSU won the first five out of six meetings between the two schools, including the first four straight contests, but has won just twice since.

FSU is 0-7 vs. the No. 1-ranked team and the last time FSU defeated a Top 5 team was on February 4, 2004 when the Seminoles topped then No. 2-ranked Duke 80-74 in Tallahassee which was the last time the Blue Devils played in Tallahassee. FSU and Duke met just once the past two seasons, but both were in Durham. Only current Seminoles Alicia Gladden, Shante Williams and Nikki Anthony have faced the Duke Blue Devils more than one time in their careers and Williams averages 15.0 points against Duke.
