TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Three future Seminoles have been nominated to play in the 2013 McDonald's All-American Game, April 3 at Chicago's United Center.

No. 22-ranked Florida State women's basketball signees Brittany Brown (Fort Walton Beach, Fla.), Kai James (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Ivey Slaughter (Macon, Ga.) were named to McDonald's initial nomination list of 800 boys and girls high school seniors on Thursday. The final roster of 24 boys and 24 girls who will be selected to the games will be announced during the McDonald's All-American Games Selection Show on ESPNU on Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. ET.

Players were nominated by high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald's All-American Games Selection Committee.

The Seminoles' fall signing class of Brown, James, Slaughter and Gabrielle Bevillard is rated the No. 11 class in the country by Blue Star Basketball and No. 12 by Collegiate Basketball Report.

Brown, a 5-8 combo guard at Choctawatchee High School, is rated the fourth-best player in Florida by National Basketball Insider and the No. 85 overall prospect in the 2013 signing class by ESPN HoopGurlz.

James, a 6-5 center from Dwyer High School, is ranked the No. 3 center and the 22nd-best player overall by ESPN HoopGurlz.

Slaughter is ranked the No. 21 forward and the No. 79 player overall by ESPN HoopsGurlz.

Brown and James are two of the 16 players on the list from Florida, while Slaughter is one of 15 nominees from Georgia.

The Seminoles currently have a pair of McDonald's All-Americans on the roster. Junior All-ACC forward Natasha Howard was named co-MVP of the 2010 McDonald's All-American Game, while sophomore Morgan Jones, who is sitting out this season per NCAA transfer rules, played in the 2011 all-star contest.
