TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State men's and women's team are set to compete at the USTA Clay Court Invitational at Disney next month from October 24-27 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Fourteen teams ranked in the top 25 are competing at the Orlando event.
"We're very excited to host this tournament for the second year," said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. "It's such a great partnership between the USTA, Disney and Florida State. We look forward to having it broadcast on ESPN3.com. This is such a great opportunity for college tennis."
Joining the No. 37 Florida State men's tennis team is No. 5 USC, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 8 Pepperdine, No. 9 Kentucky, No. 16 Florida, No. 24 Illinois, No. 25 Tulsa, No. 31 Notre Dame, No. 71 UNF, Georgia Tech, UCF, South Alabama and top players from the USTA.
The No. 24 Florida State women's team is being joined with No. 2 Florida, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 14 Duke, No. 18 Texas Tech, No. 19 Vanderbilt, No. 25 Auburn, No. 28 Oklahoma State, No. 29 Tulsa, No. 34 South Carolina, UCF, New Mexico and USTA top players.
The event will be aired on ESPN3.com on the weekend.
