FSU Men's Tennis Travels To Stone Mountain Georgia For ITA Pre-qualifier

Oct. 4, 2001

The Florida State men's tennis team travels to Stone Mountain, Ga. to compete in the ITA All-American Championships pre-qualifying rounds to be held Oct. 5-8th. FSU is sending three to the event in sophomores Alex Herrera, Romain Jurd and junior, Rodrigo Laub. Senior standout Xavier Luscan is traveling as well while he prepares for championship action which will begin Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Jurd enters the pre-qualifier following an outstanding showing at the Southern Collegiates just two weeks ago where he won the Division III singles event. Laub also fared well at the Collegiates advancing to the third round of competition while Herrera fell in the second round of consolation action.

The pre-qualifying draw consists of 256 singles players, 128 doubles teams. Only eight singles players and eight doubles teams will be able to advance into qualifying action of the tournament.
