Tallahassee, Fla.- Florida State University released their men's tennis schedule for the 2007-2008 season on Monday August 20, highlighted by three matches against top 10 opponents.
The Seminoles host sixth ranked North Carolina at Scott Speicher Tennis Center March 21. FSU then travels March 30 to second ranked and 2007 final four participant Virginia. Florida State will wrap-up their regular season against fifth ranked Notre Dame April 26.
FSU will welcome three more ranked teams to Tallahassee in 2008. Pepperdine, Duke and Wake Forest make trips to Florida State this spring. The Seminoles also travel to play some top-tier talent, with road trips to 19th ranked Florida, 11th ranked Texas and 22nd ranked Clemson to test the Seminoles.
Florida State opens the season on September 14 at the Thomasville Invitational in Thomasville, Georgia. FSU will play a total of six tournaments in the fall headlined by the Seminole Invitational November 2-5. Top players from defending National Champion Georgia and National Runner-Up Illinois have already committed to play in the event.
The Seminoles open their home dual-match schedule against Florida Atlantic January 12, the first of 13 home matches for FSU on the season.
Other highlights from the schedule include a trip to Hawaii to face St. Mary's on January 17 and Hawaii on the 18. The Seminoles will travel south to Orlando for the ACC Tennis Championships April 17-20.
