TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - As released today by the Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John D. Swofford, Jean-Yves Aubone was named the 2010 ACC Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Vahid Mirzadeh, along with Aubone, was also named to the 2010 Men's Tennis All-ACC Academic Team.

Aubone is a three-time All-ACC team member and three-time honoree of the ACC Academic Honor Roll. He was one of 13 ACC student-athletes to compete in the men's singles competition during the 2010 NCAA Championships.
"For me, it's rare to be recognized for academics because I've been an athlete my whole life so it's very special," described Aubone, a sports management student. "It makes me very proud that I was able to be successful not only as an athlete but as a student as well, which I know if very difficult for athletes. I want to thank the athletic department for really supporting academic success and not only athletic success."
Mirzadeh had an amazing season with to cap off his two-year career at Florida State. This season he posted wins against two top ten singles opponents and reached the finals of the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championships with partner Connor Smith in doubles play. He is a member of last season's ACC Academic Honor Roll and a two-time Academic All-ACC team member. This season the Hospitality Management student was named to the All-ACC team for the first time in his career.
"It's truly a great honor to have," Mirzadeh said. "I take a lot of pride in working hard with my academics, just as hard as on the tennis courts. To be selected on the All-ACC Academic team is pretty great."
