CARY, N.C. - The No. 8-seed Florida State men's tennis team faces No. 9-seed Miami Thursday morning in the first round of the ACC Championships. After defeating the Hurricanes less than a week ago, the two teams compete in the first round at 9 a.m. at the Cary Tennis Park.

"We always look forward to the postseason with the ACC Championships being the start of it," said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. "We take a lot of pride of how we finish in the conference. This is probably the deepest the ACC has ever been. We face a familiar foe in Miami having just played them and we know it's going to be another hard fought match like last Saturday."

The Seminoles finished the regular season with a 17-10 record and a 5-6 conference mark. Florida State closed out the regular season last weekend with a 6-1 win over Miami.

Dominic Cotrone is ranked No. 72 in singles while Omar Aly of Miami is No. 68 in singles. In doubles play, Cotrone and Blake Davis are ranked No. 75.

Last week the Seminoles won the doubles point against Miami. Cotrone, Davis, Marco Nunez, Michael Rinaldi and Grayson Goldin all posted singles wins.
