TALLAHASSEE, FL.--After playing two tough conference opponents on the road last weekend, the Florida State men's tennis team has returned home and is getting ready to take on 25th-ranked Georgia Tech at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center on Friday, April 6th, at 5:00 p.m.
The Seminoles enter the match against Georgia Tech with a 9-10 record on the season, 4-3 in ACC play, while the Yellow Jackets stand at 14-4 overall and 4-1 in the ACC.
Florida State and Georgia Tech have played each other 50 times with Florida State leading the all-time series 30-20. In the last meeting between the two schools the Seminoles came away with a 4-3 victory and head coach Dwayne Hultquist hopes his team is ready to repeat this year.
"Georgia Tech has had a great season so far. They have beaten several strong teams and have really improved since last year," said coach Hultquist. "We will need to play a strong match and play with a lot of energy. It is our last ACC match and it will determine our seading in the tournament. We are currently 4-3 and need a win to finish in the top half of the ACC standings."
After the match against Georgia Tech the men will get set to host South Florida on Sunday April 8th, at 1:00 p.m.
