TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 30 Florida State men's tennis team (15-7, 3-3) hosts their final home matches of the season as they welcome No. 9 North Carolina (18-3, 5-1) and No. 13 Duke (12-5, 4-1) to the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. The Seminoles will honor senior Blake Davis on Sunday between singles and doubles.
"They are two of the best teams in the ACC right now," said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. "Duke and Carolina is a big weekend for us whether it's up there or down here. We've had great matches over the years with them. We've only lost one match at home this year because we play very well as a team and part of that is the crowd that comes out here and supports us."
The Seminoles take on North Carolina on Friday at 5:00 p.m. and feature three ranked opponents. Brayden Schnur sits at No. 10 in singles and is joined by No. 25 Ronnie Schneider and No. 58 Brett Clark.
Florida State hosts Duke at noon on Sunday for Senior Day and has four ranked singles players. No. 35 Michael Redlicki, No. 48 Jason Tahir, No. 54 Fred Saba and No. 71 Bruno Semezatio. In doubles Redlicki and Tahir are ranked No. 35.
Davis is the sole senior this year and has provided the Seminoles with strong leadership as he was named Co-Captain this year. A two-time All-ACC Academic Team member, Davis is set to graduate with a degree in Finance this semester.
