TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Former Florida State men's tennis player Andres Bucaro will represent his home country of Guatemala this weekend in the Davis Cup against Bolivia. This marks his fifth and final time he will compete in this tournament.

"There is no bigger honor than to represent your country," said Bucaro. "It's been a year since I last played for my country and it's a privilege to do it one last time. I appreciate the federation and coaching staff for believing in me when we first started talking back in November. I'm also very thankful to Dwayne (Hultquist) and Florida State for allowing me to train here on campus these past few months."

After graduating last year, Bucaro worked for six months before coming back to Tallahassee and resuming his training with former teammate Jordan Kelly-Houston. This will be his last competition before starting his MBA at Florida State.

"I'm thrilled for Andres to have the opportunity to play the Davis Cup one more time before he starts his MBA," said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. "The Davis Cup is a great experience representing your country and Andres has been training hard for this chance."

Guatemala takes on Bolivia April 4-6 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Both teams are currently in the Americas Group II. The winner of the match will remain in the Group II while the losing nation is relegated to Group III in 2015.

The order of play has two singles matches on Friday, one doubles match on Saturday and two singles matches on Sunday. Bucaro takes on Hugo Dellien on Friday and Federico Zeballos on Sunday in singles. Bucaro will play with Christopher Diaz who is ranked No. 403 in the world in doubles against Dellien and Zeballos. Joining Bucaro and Diaz is Stefan Gonzalez and coach Anthony Vasquez.
