TALLAHASSEE, FL.--Head coach Dwayne Hultquist and his Florida State men's tennis team will be taking a three match winning streak on the road as they get set to play conference opponents North Carolina and Duke this upcoming weekend. The match against 48th-ranked UNC is scheduled for Saturday, March 31, at 1:00 p.m., while the Seminoles will be looking to upset No. 3 Duke on Sunday, April 1st, at 1:00 p.m.
No. 51 Florida State currently holds a 9-8 season record, 4-1 against ACC opponents, and the men are hoping to improve those numbers with the matches against UNC and Duke. The Tar Heels stand at 7-5 overall and 3-0 in the ACC, while the Blue Devils, who have 37 straight ACC regular season wins, enter the match with Florida State at 12-3, 4-0 in ACC play.
Head coach Lise Gregory and the Florida State women's tennis team currently stand at 9-7 for the season and 1-1 in ACC play as they prepare to take on conference opponents North Carolina and Duke this upcoming weekend. The match against the 14th-ranked Tar Heels is scheduled for Saturday, March 31st at 1:00 p.m., while the Seminoles will battle No. 2 Duke on Sunday, April 1st at 11:00 a.m.
Junior Alida Gallovits, currently ranked No. 68 by the ITA in singles, received ACC Player of the Week honors earlier this month and will try to lead the Florida State women against some very tough competition on the road. The Tar Heels have three players in the ITA singles ranking, while the Blue Devils have four, all of which are in the top 50.
After the matches against UNC and Duke the men will be back in action on Friday April 6th when they take on Georgia Tech at 5:00 p.m. at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center, while the next match for the women will be against Georgia Tech on Saturday April 7th at 11:00 a.m. in Atlanta, GA.
