March 22, 2001 TALLAHASSEE, FL.--The Florida State men's tennis team improved to 3-1 in the ACC after sweeping Maryland 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon, and the Noles will now prepare to take on another ACC opponent as they host the Clemson Tigers on Friday March 23rd at 5 p.m. Florida State stands at 7-8 overall on the season and are currently in 59th place in the national rankings, while No. 47 Clemson enters the match against FSU with a 3-14 record (0-1 in the ACC). "Clemson is always one of the top teams in the ACC and this is a big match for us," said FSU head coach Dwayne Hultquist. "Last year they beat us pretty handily so I think this match will be a good challenge as well as a measure of where we stand at this point in the season." After the match against Clemson, the men will be back in action on Sunday March 25th at 1:00 p.m., as they are scheduled to play Brown University for the first time in dual match competition. -FSU- |
