TALLAHASSEE, FL.--The Florida State men's tennis team traveled to Coral Gables, Fl. to face No. 22 rival University of Miami. Florida State headed into competition on a two-match winning streak and hoped to make it three. Although the Seminoles started the day off well by taking the doubles point, they were unable to hang on for the win.

The Seminoles began competition on an up note taking the doubles point from Miami winning two of the three matches. Their only loss coming at the No. 1 doubles position.

Once the singles competition began the Hurricanes were ready to fight. Miami took five of the six singles matches over Florida State. Jeff Scarella took the lone win of the day in singles play for the Noles at the No. 6 position. Scarella defeated Andrew Golub in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3 putting the Noles ahead of Miami 2-1. The Seminoles fought hard with four of the six matches coming down to a third and decisive set, but Florida State was unable to defeat the Hurricanes.

The Seminoles will now return home while they prepare to face the University of Virginia at home on Saturday, March 3rd. Dual Match competition is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
