Sophomore Year: Michael O'Shea is a classic serve and volley tennis player. He competed in two events for the Seminoles in the fall netting a X-X record.
Career Highlights
- Won the ITA Summer Circuit doubles championship in Tallahassee with partner Bobby Deye.
- Two-time member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Freshman Year (2006-07): Won the ITA Summer Circuit doubles event in Tallahassee with teammate Bobby Deye... competed in the fall season ending with a 3-8 singles record excelling at the J. Webb Horton Classic where he dominated Marc Boiron of Middle Tennessee 6-0, 6-0 and later defeated Portland's Scott Kennell 6-4, 6-2...Overpowered Furman's Juc and Ladyman 8-4 with partner Bradley Mixson at the J. Webb Horton Classic...teamed with Andrew Bailey to defeat Juc and Ladyman a second time at the Wilson/ITA Mideast Regional.
According to Coach Hultquist: "Michael has a very good serve and volley game. He is an excellent doubles player. He works very hard and is very disciplined in his training."
High School and Other Accomplishments: In March 2006, was a quarterfinalist in the USTA Spring National Championships Boy's 18 Doubles Division with George Navas...Won the USA National Open Boy's 18 Doubles Draw with Joshua Scholl in November 2005.
Personal: Born February 25, 1988 and raised in Kealakekua, Hawaii until moving to Boca Raton, FL at the age of 14 to pursue a tennis career... majoring in Finance... men's tennis winner of the Golden Torch award for academic achievement.
