Spring - First doubles All-American since 1995...reached the quarterfinals of the Doubles NCAA Individuals Championships... started the season with a 11-1 doubles record including a nine match winning streak...concluded the season with a 1908 record with partner Connor Smith...started the season with a 10-2 record in singles including a 10 match win streak...defeated No. 4 Alexandre Lacroix of Florida 7-5, 2-6, 6-4...defeated eight ranked opponents while playing on court number one the entire season...ended season with a 17-8 record...clinched the 4-3 match over Maryland on Senior Day with a 6-4, 6-4 win over No. 86 Maros Horny...finished season with a match in the Singles NCAA Individual Championships...named the National ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award...team captain in 2011 and 2010...named to the 2011 All-ACC Team, All-ACC Academic Team, ACC Honor Roll and ITA Scholar-Athlete after posting a 3.93 GPA in the spring.
Junior Year: Fall - Part of a group that played in the greater Chicago area at the Olympia Fields Country Club Invitational going 2-2 in singles and 2-1 in doubles with Aubone...after Aubone went down with an injury, he and Conner Smith went on a four game doubles winning streak including a victory over rival Miami...went on three match win streak at the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championship including a victory over No. 69 Marc Abdelnour. Spring - Went 20-5 in singles during the spring... upset the No. 3 player in the nation, Sanam Singh of Virginia, 6-3, 7-5...upset the No. 10 Ed Corrie of Texas 6-7, 6-1, 10-6...went 5-5 against ranked opponents...ranked as high as No. 40 during the year... went 14-8 in doubles with Connor Smith... posted three wins against ranked opponents.
Sophomore Year: In his first season of collegiate tennis, Vahid Mirzadeh proved that he could compete with anyone in the country...along with partner Jean-Yves Aubone the duo defeated the No. 1-ranked doubles team in the country Cory Parr and Steven Forman from Wake Forest...that win helped catapult them into the top 20 in the ITA rankings and a berth in the NCAA Doubles Tournament...Mirzadeh also held down the No. 4 position for the Seminoles for the second half of the season compiling a 14-6 record.
Career: Has been playing the Futures Tour during the last year and has competed in Challenger events... won a Futures doubles title in Tampa, Fla., in 2008... reached a high ITF World Junior ranking of No. 28... won the 2005 U.S. Jr. Doubles National Championship to gain entry into the main draw of the U.S. Open... highlights include wins over Juan Martin Del Potro and Donald Young.
