Biggest Win in '99: Against Georgia Southern's Ryan O'Keefe (2/6) , Ingham
pulled out a tight three-set victory to extend his winning streak to three.
After winning the first set convincingly 6-3, Ingham lost a second set
tiebreaker 7-4. In the deciding third set, Ingham broke O'Keefe at 5-5 and
served out the match for his seventh win of the season.
One of the winningest tennis players in FSU history...with 67 career
singles wins and 40 career doubles wins, should move into the top 10 in
both categories by the end of the 2000 spring season...a fiery competitor
with a good all-around game...the only senior on this year's squad...23 of
67 career wins have come at No. 4 singles.
1998-99: Dominant at No. 4
singles during the spring, winning seven of 10 matches...went 4-2 in ACC
competition...put together four-match win streak at the beginning of March
that included two, three set victories...won four of six matches that went
three sets...12 of 16 wins were in two sets...teamed with senior Yvo Niks
to win 14 of 20 doubles matches in the spring...played primarily at No. 2
doubles with Niks, winning 11 matches and five of seven in ACC play...won
his last four singles matches in the fall and all but one overall...won the
Flight 5 Singles Championship at the Seminole Fall Classic...went
undefeated with Chad Mooney in doubles during the fall, posting a 4-0
record en route to winning the Flight 2 Doubles Championship at the
Seminole Fall Classic.
1997-98: Finished second on the team in victories,
posting a record of 25-11...spent most of season at No. 4 singles, yet went
5-1 at No. 3...recorded an impressive 8-2 record against ACC
competition...won nine of his last 10 regular-season matches and 11 of his
last 14...was runner up for the fourth flight in NCAA regional tournament.
...won three matches in the pre-qualifying tournament to advance to the
qualifying rounds of the ITA National Claycourt Championships at the
Suburban Club in Baltimore, MD during the fall.
1996-97: Played at No. 4
through 6 singles during the dual match season...recorded a team-high 18
dual match singles victories, as well as 26 overall singles wins...went 7-2
in ACC singles competition...had win streaks of nine twice...went
undefeated at No. 3 and 6 singles and had an impressive 5-1 record at No. 4
singles...advanced through the qualifying rounds to main draw of the Rolex
Region II Indoor Championships...advanced to his flight's final at the 1996
Seminole Fall Classic...won two out of three matches at the 1996 Clemson
Fall Classic...competed in doubles action with Joe Carnley, Yvo Niks and
Murphy Payne...went 4-8 at No. 3 singles with Carnley...named to the ACC
Academic Honor Roll.
High School and other accomplishments: Played No. 1
singles and doubles for the Hulme Grammar School in Heywood, England...won
the U-14 and U-16 singles and doubles titles at the British
Nationals...also picked up the national title for U-18 indoors...won the
championship at the British Winter Series...represented England in the
European Championships and at the European Team Cup competition...has a
world junior ranking of 75...competed against 1996 Wimbledon phenom and
fellow Britain Tim Henman.
