Seminoles Come Away With A Split Against LSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - At the final home meet of the season and after the six graduating seniors had been recognized, the Seminoles came away with a split against the LSU Tigers in Saturday's meet held at the Bobby E. Leach Center. The Lady Seminoles (8-5) defeated the Lady Tigers 137-106, while the men (6-7) dropped a hard fought meet 146-97.
The women took seven events on the afternoon, including both the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle Relay. Kristen Adams had a superb meet winning the 100 Freestyle in a time of 52.17 and placing second in the 200 Freestyle at 1:52.53. She also swam a leg in the 200 Freestyle Relay in the final event of the afternoon. In other results, Jennifer Smith came away with a victory in the 1000 Freestyle in a time of 10:26.07. Christy Cech, Amber Goodwin, and Keryn Krynauw each had individual victories for the Seminoles. Emma Dutton, from Bradford, England, finished second in the 100 Breaststroke and fourth in the 200 Individual Medley in her first meet of the season.
The Seminoles honored their six graduating seniors before today's meet. Kristen Adams, Summer Bell, Louis Dondero, Greg Main-Baillie, Will McReynolds, and Megan Lock competed in their final home meet of their collegiate career. They were honored with a plaque and a team photo that was signed by all the swimmers and divers.
The Seminoles are now gearing up for the ACC Championships in Charlottesville, Virginia. The women will head to the ACC's on February 14-17, while the men make the trip to Virginia on February 21-24.
