Nationally Ranked Auburn Downs Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla - The Seminoles took on nationally ranked Auburn on Saturday, closing out their weekend trip to Alabama. The Tigers came into the meet with both the men's and women's team ranked at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

The Lady Tigers jumped out to an early start, and did not hesitate to look back in defeating the Lady Seminoles 143-90. The Seminoles were led by Chelsie Lerew, who swept both the one-meter (274.43) and three-meter (295.43) diving competitions. Keryn Krynauw also contributed placing first in the 200 Breaststroke in a time of 2:18.11. Margaret Colley had a second place finish in the 200 Backstroke finishing in a personal best time of 2:06.63.

On the men's side, the Tigers dominated the meet in defeating the Seminoles 145-84. Greg Main-Baillie led the Noles once again winning the 100 Freestyle in a time of 45.12. Main-Baillie also joined Nnamnse Ammons, Will McReynolds, and Matt Carmen in taking first place in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:22.80. In diving, Josh Edelman, Lou Dondero, and Mike Franks picked up valuable second, third, and fourth place points, respectively, in both the one-meter and three meter dives.

With the loss, the Lady Noles move to 7-5, while the men drop to 6-6. The next meet for the Seminoles will be at home against LSU on February 3.
