Swimming and Diving Downs ACC Rival N.C. State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State women's and men's swimming and diving teams defeated ACC opponent N.C. State on Friday, October 30 in Raleigh, N.C. The women (4-1) defeated the Wolfpack 126-117 and the men (4-0) won 123-120.

Stephen Parry led the men, winning the 400 IM, 200 Fly and 500 Free. Julio Santos added wins in the 50 and 100 Free as Greg Main-Baillie and Brett Petersen won the 200 Back and 200 Breast respectively. The Seminoles were trailing 110-116 going into the 200 Free Relay but the team of Santos, Matt McVittie, Kevin Flanagan and Keam Ang took the meet as they won the event.

Junior Tanya Gurr led the Lady Seminoles as she won the 100 and 200 Free. Summer Washburn added points, winning the 200 Back and finishing second in the 400 IM and Liska Dedekind gave the Seminoles some points as she won the 50 Free and finished second in the 200 Back. The women trailed 111-115 going into the 200 Free Relay but Gurr, Anne Blachford, Amber Goodwin and Kristen Adams took the event and gave the Seminoles the win.

FSU will host the Florida Gators on Friday, November 20 at 3:00pm in the Bobby E. Leach Center on the FSU campus.
