2002: Only Seminole swimmer on the men’s squad to qualify and compete at the NCAA Championships…will be a key component to FSU’s run for the conference title in 2003…named a Academic All-American by the College Swim Coaches Association of America…selected as the Most Valuable Swimmer at season’s end along with Wickus Nienaber…competed in the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes and 200-yard IM at NCAA’s…best finish was 24th in the 100-breast, followed by a 34th-place finish in the 200-breast and 40th finish in the 200-IM…finished second at ACC’s in the 100-breast with a NCAA-A cut time of 54.29, which is third-best in school history…earned All-ACC honors at the conference meet…swam the second-fastest 200-breast time (2:00.11) at the conference meet to place fifth overall and reach NCAA-B cuts…broke the school record in the 200-IM at ACC’s with yet another NCAA-B cut time of 1:48.83 to place sixth…member of the ACC champion-ship 200-medley relay squad…at the Georgia Invitational, placed third overall in the 200-IM…one of three Semi-noles to place in the top five of the 200-breast at the Georgia Invitational, finishing fifth…finished seventh in the 100-breast at the Georgia Invite…member of the 200- medley relay that finished fourth at the Georgia Invite…placed second in the 200-IM vs. nationally ranked Florida…finished second in the 200-IM and third in the 200-breast against Clemson…won the 400-IM against FAU…vs. Alabama, won the 100-IM, placed second in the 200-breast and third in the 100-breast and 200-med-ley relay…earned ACC Academic Honor Roll honors.

2001: At the ACC Championships, finished fifth in the 100-breaststroke…versus NC State, placed first in the 100- and 200-breaststroke events and second in the 200- IM…finished second in the 200 breaststroke against FAU, Miami and Southern Methodist…amassed fourth-place finishes against Southern Methodist, Arizona, Alabama and LSU in the 100-breaststroke and against Miami in the 200-IM.

2000: Finished sixth in the 100-breast at the ACC Championships...was a consolation finalist in both the 200-breast and 200-IM.

HIGH SCHOOL: Won the Junior Nationals in the 100-breast...Washington Post All-Metro Second team as a senior...a NHSICA All-American candidate…all-state and all northern region selec-tion as a junior and senior...all-Liberty County all four years...district record holder in the 100 breast and 200 IM...team captain and MVP as a senior...school record holder in the 100 fly, 100 breast, and 200 IM...USA Swimming Academic All-American as a senior.

PERSONAL: Son of Al and Pat Betts...born on December 16, 1980... his greatest ambition is to make the Olympics...majoring in information studies.
