TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State men's golf team, which has earned three top-10 finishes in three events this fall, shoots for its fourth consecutive top finish as it travels to play in the 8th Annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Ridge Golf and Country Club in Jonesborough, Tenn., Oct. 15-16. The event features eight of the top 35 teams in the nation according to GolfWeek Magazine - including the Seminoles who are ranked 34th in this week's poll. Florida State was ranked 24th in the poll of Oct. 3 - its highest national ranking under third-year head coach Trey Jones. The Seminoles close out their fall schedule with this event and will open their spring schedule at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., Feb. 18-19, 2006.

THE BANK OF TENNESSEE INTERCOLLEGIATE AT THE RIDGES FIELD Florida State, which is ranked No. 34 in the most recent national poll by Golf Week Magazine, is joined by No. 3 Tennessee, No. 11 Wake Forest, No. 15 Northwestern, No. 24 Kent State, No. 25 Louisiana State, No. 27 East Tennessee State, No. 32 Auburn, No. 35 North Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, TCU, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Oklahoma in the 8th Annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Ridges Golf and Country Club. The event is hosted by East Tennessee State University and is played at the Ridges Golf and Country Club, a scenic par 72, 7,001 yard course designed by renowned course architect Arthur Hills.

FRESHMAN SAVAGE LEADS SEMINOLES AT GARY KOCH INTERCOLLEGIATE Seminole freshman Matt Savage (Louisville, Ky.) shot a two-under 70 in the final round and finished in a tie for 17th place in the individual standings and the Seminole men's golf team finished in eighth place in the team standings as competition at the Gary Koch/Cleveland Golf Intercollegiate in the team's last outing. It was the second top-20 finish for Savage and the third top 10 team finish in three events this fall for the Seminoles. Savage shot two rounds of even par scores of 70 and finished as the Seminoles' highest ranking player for the second time during the first three events of his career. He finished tied for 17th in the individual standings which marked his career best finish; he finished in a tie for 18th place at the season-opening Tennessee Tournament of Champions. Savage came within three strokes of tying his career-best tournament score of 214 which he carded at the Tennessee TOC.

JONES SETS LINEUP FOR THE RIDGES INTERCOLLEGIATE Seminole head coach Trey Jones will send a trio of juniors - Jonas Blixt, Torstein Nevestad and Bradley Ruch - and a pair of freshman - Matt Savage and Nicholas Smith - to the tee box at the Ridges Intercollegiate. Three of the Seminoles in the lineup, Blixt, Nevestad and Savage, have played in all four events for the Seminoles this fall.

RUCH IN SEMINOLES' LINEUP FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK Junior Bradley Ruch (Louisville, Ky.), who finished in a tie for 27th place in the individual standings at the Gary Koch Intercollegiate, will play as a member of the Seminoles' lineup at the Ridges Intercollegiate. He led the Seminoles through the first two rounds of the Gary Koch with even-par scores of 72 and was in a tie for 17th place after the first 36 holes of the event. Ruch earned the sixth top-30 individual finish of his Seminole career at the Gary Koch.

NOTING TORSTEIN NEVESTAD Junior Torstein Nevestad (Oslo, Norway) enters this weekend's tournament ranked second on the team with a 72.78 stroke average. He carded a 68 in the third round of the Tennessee Tournament of Champions and leads the team with all nine of his scores at 75 or better this fall.
