TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 17 men's golf team makes its ninth consecutive NCAA Championship appearance on Thursday in the NCAA Raleigh Regional at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course (7,213 yards, par 71) on the campus of NC State. Florida State is one of 13 teams vying for the chance to advance to the NCAA Championships next week.
The squad tees off at 8:00 a.m. paired with Georgia Tech and Washington. The line-up for the Seminoles feature freshman Jack Maguire, sophomore Hank Lebioda, redshirt-freshman Cristobal Del Solar, senior Joaquin Lolas and sophomore Rowin Caron.
The Seminoles finished the season second at the ACC Championship in April and earned a team title at the USF Invitational in March. Florida State added four more top-five team finishes on the year.
Individually, Maguire was named the ACC Freshman of the Year after winning two individual titles this season and Lebioda was named to the All-ACC team for the second straight year.
The Raleigh Regional plays host to 13 teams including, in order of seed, No. 5 Georgia Tech, No. 8 Washington, No. 20 Texas A&M, No. 29 Mercer, No. 32 Kentucky, No. 41 Texas Tech, No. 45 Wake Forest, South Alabama, Memphis, Minnesota, Rice and Bethune-Cookman.
The top five finishers of each of the six regional sites will advance to the championship site at Prairie Dunes Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kansas May 23-28.
