FSU Closes Out Regular Season

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 18 Florida State men's golf team closes out the regular season on Monday, April 8 at the Gary Koch Invitational at the Old Memorial Golf Club in Tampa, Fla. The Seminoles, who have won two tournaments this season, are playing in a two-day, three round 14-team field hosted by Auburn and Kentucky. The Seminoles tee off at 7:35 a.m. tomorrow.

"This is a great tournament to finish the regular season," said head coach Trey Jones. "Old Memorial is such a special club and we are privileged to have a great relationship with the owners and Seminole members. We want to finish the season strong and I look forward to see how we play these next two days. Our goal is to win and I know we can with this line-up."

The Seminoles are traveling with sophomore Daniel Berger, seniors Chase Seiffert and Doug Letson and freshmen Hank Lebioda and Rowin Caron. Junior Joaquin Lolas is playing as an individual.

Berger has won two tournaments this year at the Gator Invitational and the Seminole Intercollegiate and has five finishes in the top five. This is the eighth tournament for Seiffert this season with his best showing at the Seminole Intercollegiate as he finished tied for second. This is also the eighth showing for Letson this season and finished tied for third at the Gator Invitational.

Caron is playing in his seventh tournament and finished fifth at the Seminole Intercollegiate and tied for fifth at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate. Lebioda has also had a successful freshman campaign and finished fifth at the USF Invitational. Lolas is participating in his third tournament with his best finish coming at the Seminole Intercollegiate where he placed tied for seventh.

Florida State won the Gary Koch Invitational in 2009 and finished fifth in both 2012 and 2010. Last season Letson finished tied for 10th while Berger finished tied for 18th and Seiffert placed tied for 32nd.

The Seminoles are part of a 14-team field including No. 8 Georgia Tech, No. 9 Florida, No. 19 North Florida, No. 20 Auburn, No. 26 Wake Forest, No. 50 Georgia Southern, College of Charleston, Jacksonville, Kentucky, Ohio State, Pacific, South Florida and UNCG.
