AWENDAW, S.C. - The Florida State men's golf team has moved into a tie for sixth place in the team standings after the second round of the inaugural Hootie At Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. The second round was completed Tuesday morning after it was suspended by darkness Monday night. The Seminoles finished with the third best team score of the second round, a 288, and began the third and final round only 10 strokes off the pace set by Kentucky. The Wildcats hold the lead with a 577 team total after 36 holes while the Seminoles are tied with Georgia Tech with a 587 team total.

Kentucky, the nation's No. 23rd ranked team in the most recent GolfWeek/Sagarin rankings, leads the event with a 577 total through the first two rounds. The Wildcats are followed by No. 15 Augusta State (580), No. 17 South Carolina (584), No. 44 Louisiana State (586) and No. 7 Auburn (586). The Seminoles are tied for sixth with No. 2 ranked Georgia Tech (587) and currently ahead of No. 3 Georgia (590, eighth place), No. 22 Alabama (591, tied for ninth place), No. 9 Wake Forest (597, tied for 11th place), No. 26 Clemson (605, 13th place) and No. 31 North Carolina (607, 13th place) in the team standings.

The Seminoles were led by freshman Jonas Blixt (Nassjo, Sweden) and sophomore Bradley Ruch (Louisville, Ky.) in the second round. Both players carded one-under par scores of 71. Florida State also counted two scores of 73 by sophomore Torstein Nevestad and senior Rusty Mosley. The individual placements had not been calculated prior to the teams heading back out onto the course of the third and final round of the event.

The third round began at approximately 10:30 a.m. The teams should finish play in the late afternoon. Final team and individual scores will be posted as soon as they are received on seminoles.com.

The event benefits the Hootie and the Blowfish Foundation which supports music programs nationwide. The group performed a concert prior to the beginning of the event Saturday night.
