TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - After winning his first collegiate tournament last month, sophomore Daniel Berger was named the Co-Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for the month of February.
Berger led the Seminoles to the team title at the Gator Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Club in Gainesville, Fla., by shooting a 7-under par 203 and taking first-place honors. In claiming his first collegiate win, the Jupiter, Fla., sophomore shot a 69-69-65. His third round score of 65 was a career low for him.
"I'm proud of my play the last month in how hard I've competed even when I wasn't playing at my best," said Berger. "I'm thankful for the resources FSY has given me and I'm looking forward to the Seminole Intercollegiate to defend out title and hopefully take our good play to postseason in the upcoming weeks."
Berger shares the honor with NC State's Albin Choi after he took the title at the Puerto Rico Classic. The ACC Men's Golfer of the Month for February included tournaments played January 1 through February 26, 2013.
