MACON, Ga. -
The final round of the Brickyard Collegiate Men's Golf Championship was cancelled because of heavy rain. The third and final round had started and each of the 15 teams was on the course before the weather forced a stoppage in play. All of the scores in the third round were wiped out and the results reverted back to the completion of the second round.
Florida State finished in a tie for seventh place in the team standings. The Seminoles' finish marked the first time in four events this fall that they had finished outside of the top five. Florida State claimed the team championships at the GolfWeek Conference Challenge and the Gary Koch Intercollegiate while finishing in fifth place at the Olympia Fields Invitational.
Seminole sophomore Brooks Koepka finished in a tie for fifth place with a three-under par total of 141 for the 36 holes played. He carded an even par 72 in the first round and a three-under par 69 in the second round. Koepka earned two top-five individual finishes this fall - fourth at the Gary Koch Invitational and tied for fifth in this event.
With the end of the Brickyard Collegiate, the Seminoles' fall season comes to a close. They will open their spring season at the Hawaii Hilo Invitational Feb. 3-5, 2010.
