TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State Seminoles finished in second place at the Seminole Classic at the Golden Eagle Country Club today. The Seminoles fired a final-round 299 to finish 12 strokes behind the University of North Carolina. The University of North Florida finished in fourth, eight strokes behind the Seminoles. The Seminoles were led by senior Jason Pool. Pool shot a round of 77 to finish in fifth place with a three-round total of 221. Pool ended one stroke back of second-round co-leader James Driscoll of Virginia. Nathan Bertsch, co-leader going into the final round, struggled in today's round. Bertsch fired a 79 today to finish tied for sixth with three other golfers. Mark Monroe, playing in his second tournament of the spring, finished tied for 10th with Grant White of Southeastern Louisiana University. Barry Dyche shot the low round of the day for the Seminoles, shooting a 71 today to end the tournament tied for 24th. George McNeill rounded out the team scoring for the Seminoles, finishing tied for 45th at 235. Kris Hannah led a group of six individuals that participated from Florida State. Hannah, a freshman from Tallahassee, FL, finished tied for 19th after three rounds of 76. Craig Cochran and Ryan Felty ended tied for 41st with two-day totals of 234.
