Mar. 1, 1998 JACKSONVILLE, FL--The Florida State men's golf team is in a tie for fifth place with the College of Charleston after two rounds of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship at the Queen's Harbour Country Club. The Seminole team score of 575 is two strokes behind Florida Southern College. The Seminoles are led by senior George McNeill. McNeill fired a 74 today to stand tied for 17th. Mark Monroe two-day total has him tied for 24th along with teammate Barry Dyche. Jason Pool's 75 today moved him into a tie for 29th after two rounds. Ryan Felty rounded out the scoring for the Seminoles with a 75 today. The University of South Carolina is in the team lead while Travis Perkins of Florida Southern is the individual leader. The final round of the tournament will take place tomorrow morning. |
