Chad Smith, who played an integral role in helping the Seminole men's and women's golf teams both advance to their respective NCAA Tournaments in 2012, is in his second season as the Golf Operations Manager at Florida State. Smith works directly with Director of Golf and Head Men's Golf Coach Trey Jones and Head Women's Coach Amy Bond and each of the golf student-athletes on the day-to-day management of the teams. Smith was the manager of player services at the American Junior Golf Association prior to his appointment at Florida State. His primary role was mentoring junior golfers in their quest to earn college scholarships. In his position with the AJGA he handled all contact and benefits programs more than 5,000 member golfers. As an undergraduate student at Florida State, he was an intern in both the Seminole Athletics Marketing office and the FSU Licensing Office in Seminole Boosters. As a member of the golf staff, Smith's responsibilities include managing the business affairs for both teams, arranging all aspects of team travel and overseeing the improvement and maintenance of Florida State's nationally renowned facilities at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course. He also serves as the Co-Tournament Director for the annual Seminole Intercollegiate Golf Tournament and will play an integral role in the tournament operations when Florida State plays host to the 2013 NCAA East Regional championship at Golden Eagle Country Club.
