On Cobb: One of Florida State's most experienced players who will compete as a graduate student during his final year of eligibility in 2011-12...was a redshirt member of the team at UCF in 2008-09 and has one year of eligibility remaining...he earned his undergraduate degree in political science and will work toward a master's degree in integrated marketing communications while he continues his playing career this season as a Seminole...has played in 11 career tournaments including a career high seven as a senior member of the Florida State men's golf team during the fall of 2010 and the spring of 2011...earned his way into the Seminoles' starting line-up in each of the seven events his played in as a senior in 2010-11...a member of three NCAA Tournament teams at Florida State and pushed the Seminoles to a third place finish at the NCAA Championship finals in 2010...transferred to Florida State and played in one tournament during the spring of 2010... played well as a freshman at UCF in 2007-08 but took a redshirt year and did not play for the Knights during the 2008-09 fall or spring seasons...carded his career low score of 69 in the third round of the spring 2010 Seminole Intercollegiate...named to the 2011 All-ACC Academic Men's Golf Team...played in the U.S. Amateur in both 2006 and 2011...averages 74.36 strokes in 33 rounds during 11 career tournaments entering his final year of Collegiate eligibility...

At UCF (2007-09): Was a member of the golf team at UCF for two seasons...played in three events in his first season and was a member of the team but did not play in any events as a sophomore...shot two consecutive rounds under par in his first collegiate event en route to a personal season best 214 at the UCF Rio Pinar Invitational...finished as the Knights' highest finishing golfer in the event and in a tie for 12th place (- two under par) with first and second round scores of one-under par 71...placed a season best eighth in the individual standings with a one-over 217 at the Conference USA Championship...was the only UCF golfer and the only freshman to finish in the top 10 at the CUSA Championship with first and second round one-under 71's...competed in two Collegiate Players Tour events...finished 41st in the CPT National Championship at the Texas Star Golf Club and 2nd at the Orange County National...finished third at the Florida State Public Links Championship, an FSGA event...was awarded the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal and earned a place on the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll...averaged 73.40 strokes in nine rounds during three events.

Spring 2010: Earned his first action as a Seminole in the Seminole Intercollegiate...played as an individual in a event that saw Florida State win the team championship...finished in a tie for 20th place (second among all individuals) with a 219 score for the three round event...earned his career best score of 69 in the third round to mark the first time in his career that he has broke 70...played well in the Seminole with a first round score of 71 and a third round score of 69...averaged a career-low 73.00 strokes in three rounds during one tournament...

Fall 2010: Helped Florida State to two top five and three top 10 team finishes as he earned his way into the Seminoles' starting line-up for the Gary Koch Intercollegiate, the Brickyard Invitational and the U.S. Collegiate Championship...totaled more than half of his scores (five of nine) at 75 or better during the fall season...Best overall event came in helping the Seminoles to a ninth place team finish in the loaded field at the U.S. Collegiate as he carded a season hest tournament score of 224, a score vs. par of +8 and finished in a season best tie for 39th place in the individual standings...carded his season best score of 71 in the third round of the U.S. Collegiate...earned a top 50 individual finish at the season opening Gary Koch with a 229 total and a tie for 49th individual finish...was strong over the first 36 holes with scores of 73 and 74...counted two of his three scores toward the team total as the Seminoles earned a fifth place finish in the team standings...two scores of 75 in the first and third rounds and the Brickyard in helping Florida State to a third place finish at the Brickyard...averaged 75.78 strokes in nine rounds during three events...

Spring 2011: Boosted Florida State to its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance as he played well in four tournaments from the Seminoles' starting line-up...a total of 10 strokes over par in back to back events - the USF Invitational and the Seminole Intercollegiate - which helped the Seminoles right their ship after a tough start to the spring season...five consecutive rounds scored at 74 or better in the two tournaments as Florida State finish in second place at USF and in third place in the Seminole...averaged 73.16 strokes in the six rounds of the two tournaments in finishing in a tie for 35th and a tie for 29th in the two tournaments...tied his Seminole best for a single round score with a 71 in the second round of the USF Invitational...three scores at 74 or better (74-72-73) in helping Florida State to a third place team finish at the Seminole Intercollegiate...played well in the Gator and was among the leaders after the first round as he carded a 73...finished the event with a third round score of 73 and in a tie for 41st place in the individual standings...closed out his season with an even par score of 72 in the final round of the Linger Longer Invitational...only one round above a 76 in his first three events of the spring season...averaged 74.33 strokes in 12 rounds during four tournaments...

Before Florida State: Graduated from Leon High School in 2007... played golf all four years for Leon, finishing second and leading his team to a fourth-place mark at the FHSAA Class 2A Finals with rounds of 67 and 68 as a senior... named the All-Big Bend Golfer of the year by the Tallahassee Democrat in his final season at Leon...National Junior Golf Scoreboard and Golfweek Sagarin ranked him seventh in the state of Florida with Golfweek Sagarin ranking him 34th in the nation in the class of 2007...played in the Florida State Amateur Championship finishing runner-up at the Junior Match Play Invitational...won two Junior Tour events posting a 146 at Golden Hills and a 140 at North Shore...finished fifth or better seven times on the Junior Tour and finished in the top 10 all but five times...posted a career Junior Tour best 64 in 04-05 at the Boys Junior Championship, the same year in which he posted his best season scoring average of 70.71... never finished below 10th in his first two years on the Junior Tour shooting sub-70 rounds five times... placed eighth at the Southwood Golf Club his senior year with a two-round 148 and 11th place at the Orange County National with a three-round 219....

Personal: Born Sept. 2, 1988...born in Tallahassee and attended nearby Leon High School...Kyle is the son of Danny and Polly Cobb...named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll in 2010 and 2011...earned his bachelor's degree in political science in April of 2011.
