Florida State Players All-America Honors
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Three Florida State football players garnered first team All-American honors from The Sporting News and the American Football Coaches Associated. Linebacker Sam Cowart and defensive end Andre Wadsworth were selected by The Sporting News to its first team All-America. The Sporting News also selected its Freshmen All-America team where four Seminoles were recognized. Cornerback Tay Cody, kicker Sebastian Janikowski, and offensive guard Donald Heaven were named to the first team, while offensive tackle Ross Brannon earned second team honors. Wadsworth and center Kevin Long will be named to the AFCA's All-America first team on Thursday night's ESPN College Football Awards Show at 8:30 p.m.
