Florida State's Daryl Bush Repeats As Academic All-AmericanWINTER PARK, Fla -- Florida State senior middle linebacker Daryl Bush was honored for the second consecutive season as a first team selection to the GTE Academic All-American Team. Bush, an Altamonte Springs, FL native, was the lone selection from a team located in the state of Florida. A graduate student in Athletic Administration, Bush was also the recipient of this year's $18,000 National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete Award and was named to this season's All-ACC second team. As a semifinalist for the Butkus award the past three seasons, Bush has received All-ACC recognition every year since the 1994 season when he became a full-time starter as a redshirt freshman. Following the 1996 season, he received the Jim Tatum (ACC) and CFA Scholar Athlete awards, while earning his third Golden Torch Award as the top scholar-athlete on the football squad. Bush completed his undergraduate degree in Business with a 3.9 GPA during the summer.
