TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - No. 4 Florida State practiced for the final time before their Saturday national television (ABC) date with rival Miami.

The team worked out for 15 periods in helmets and shorts that concentrated on the short yardage situations for both offense and defense.

"We should be as well prepared for this game as any so far this year," said Bobby Bowden. "We had the week off and had a chance to get some people healthy. It comes down to playing hard and executing. We expect a fight and a struggle."

Bowden confirmed that Dee Feaster will start at tailback for the Seminoles with Davy Ford listed at second team. "We didn't play Davy Ford in the last game," said Bowden. "He's looked pretty good when he's been in. When Ford gets in there we're going live him in there. We're still looking for somebody who might make something happen."

Senior defensive end Greg Spires will have his stress fracture X-rayed on Friday and the final determination as to whether he will play will come on game day. Spires has missed the first three games of the season. Wide receiver Ron Dugans is the only FSU player listed as doubtful for the game.

In a related note, the NFL released Thursday the Rookies of the Month for September. Former Seminole Warrick Dunn won the offensive honor, while former Seminole Peter Boulware was the defensive winner.

A few tickets for the FSU/ Miami game will go on sale beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Florida State ticket office. The tickets will also be sold via phone by dialing 888-FSU-NOLE.
