Jan. 5, 1998 Florida State Announces 1998 Football ScheduleTALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State University released its 1998 football schedule on Monday and it features six home games along with a tentative preseason contest. "I think the general consensus is that our 1998 football schedule could be the best one we've ever played as it relates to the games in Tallahassee," said FSU Director of Athletics Dave Hart. "We're currently negotiating to play in a pre-season game late in August which could only add to the attractiveness of our schedule. I am also very confident that we will have some night games at home this year which will be exciting for our fans." Florida State finished ranked No. 3 in both polls this season after posting its 11th straight season of 10 or more wins. The Seminoles defeated Ohio State 31-14 in the 1998 Nokia Sugar Bowl to post an 11-1 record in 1997.
