Ryan McMahon Named A Rivals Freshman All-American

Nov. 27, 2007

Tallahassee, FL - The awards season has begun and Florida State football players are garnering their share of accolades. Yesterday five Seminoles were selected for All-ACC honors. Today a sixth Seminole was singled out when center Ryan McMahon was named a freshman All-American by Rivals. The center from Rome, GA is the second freshman on the offensive line to be honored in the last two days.

McMahon, a converted defensive lineman, is the only freshman center in America to take every offensive snap for his team this season. Coming into the Florida game he had one of the top two grades on the line six times. With 68% being a winning grade, McMahon has graded out at 70% or better in seven of the first 11 games this season and he had not been flagged for a penalty. He recorded 18 knockdowns and had not allowed a sack in the season's first 11 games. McMahon is an exceptional pass blocker who has posted a grade of 78% or better seven times and of 84% or better four times.

The Seminoles are off this week as they await their bowl destination. As soon as an announcement is made, Seminoles.com will have all the details.
