Carter And Hudson Take Home ACC Honors Following Win Over Miami
Oct. 6, 2008
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Following Florida State’s big win Saturday over Miami in Dolphin Stadium two Seminoles were named ACC Player of the Week. For the second time this season Rodney Hudson was named the conference’s offensive lineman of the week and Tony Carter took home defensive back honors. This is the first time two Seminoles were honored by the ACC in the same week since Drew Weatherford and Hudson won the honors following FSU’s upset of No. 2 Boston College in 2007. Tony Carter recorded multiple interceptions for the second week in a row as he picked off Miami’s Robert Marve twice. His first pick in the first quarter led to the Seminoles’ first TD of the game and then in the fourth quarter he intercepted a deep pass on 4th-and-6 to thwart a potential Miami TD that would have cut the score to 34-29. Carter watched the receiver all the way, never turned back to look for the ball, and swiped it out of the receivers hands just as he was about to haul the ball in at the FSU two-yard line. |
