"He made a lot of big plays for us last year," FSU offensive coordinator James Coley said. "Very fast. We expect him to be the same. He's a slot receiver for us. We want Christian to contribute like he did last year ... [being a high school quarterback] has helped him pick up the multiple schemes we have on our offense."
"Northeast, blue-collar, tough guy who knows football and has been around football," Coley said about Haplea this past Sunday at FSU Media Day. "He's played in a lot of big-time football games and understands what camp's about and understands what team unity is about. He's a guy who is a veteran. You are getting a veteran who is going to contribute to that position. This is his third offense in three years. He understands how much he needs to learn it and how he has to work to get better at it and he's done that.
"He's doing a great job."
