As we continue to count down our top twelve players to watch for 2012, we'll turn our attention to defense.
Greg Reid is a game changer, plain and simple. He's one of those guys that can turn something out of nothing, and seems to have a knack for making the big play right when the Noles need it most.
And he does it on both special teams and defense. Big interceptions, game-changing punt returns, Reid is the spark plug.
He's the fan favorite and has that uncanny ability to get the entire stadium pumped up.
But his biggest growth over the past few seasons has been discipline at the field corner spot.
He's doesn't take those costly risks anymore, and has developed into a lockdown corner alongside teammate Xavier Rhodes.
The key this year for Reid is to first stay healthy. He's essential to the secondary, and the defense is at their very best when Reid is full-go. Especially during the Clemson game last season, our defense was simply not the same without Reid in the lineup.
Reid's health becomes even more important this season after the graduation of Mike Harris.
Finally, Reid has to continue to make plays. The team is different when Greg Reid is his electric playmaking self on the field.
The team's confidence is higher and the atmosphere at Doak is just that much better.
And it's his last season as a Seminole. Knowing Greg Reid, he wants to go out in style.
Come back tomorrow as we continue our look at the top players to watch for 2012.
