For the first time since 2003, Florida State has sold out of its entire seven-game season ticket allotment for football. With a season ticket renewal rate of 96% and more than 3,000 new season ticket holders coming on board, the Seminole Athletic Ticket office will now shift its focus to selling a limited number of six-game season tickets ($240), which includes all home games except for Florida and requires a minimum Seminole Booster donation.
Single game tickets are also available for games versus The Citadel, Wake Forest, Boston College and Virginia; however, similar to the six-game package, supplies are limited.
"We are excited about the enthusiasm surrounding the upcoming football season," said FSU Athletics Director Stan Wilcox. "Following the National Championship, the Athletics staff and Boosters worked hand-in-hand to ensure the momentum generated by the team and coaching staff last year continued this year. A full Doak Campbell stadium is representative of those efforts.
"From an exciting schedule, to superb coaching, to the defending National Champions, the best college football has to offer will be on full display in Tallahassee this fall. The entire Seminole family is working hard to create a fan experience that continues to bring our fans back year-after-year."
Season ticket renewals are up 8% from the previous year and are over 95% for the first time in more than a decade. The Seminoles' National Championship, the return of Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston and an attractive home schedule that includes the first visit from Notre Dame since 2002 all played a role in the record-setting sales pace.
Florida State also attributes a portion of its increase in sales and retention to several customer-friendly innovations including the employment of account representatives who provide personal service during the sales and renewal process. In addition to personalized service, FSU fans have been able to upgrade, relocate or add tickets via an online seat selection process for the second year.
"FSU Athletics and Seminole Boosters have worked together to make it significantly easier to provide excellent service to our customers and it is showing in our ticket sales numbers," said FSU Director of Ticket Operations Jack Chatham. "In some cases, we have 10,000 less tickets available for games than we did at this time last year. As far as season tickets are concerned, we are sold out earlier in the process than anyone can remember. With our contractual allotment of tickets (9,500) for the Florida series, we will continue to offer a season ticket that includes our six other home games.
"Our fans have really responded to the success of this football program and are intent on being in the stands to support our program every opportunity they get this coming season. We are experiencing busy phones and on-line orders are streaming in."
Seminole fans can purchase single game tickets on-line via Seminoles.com. The $240 six-game season ticket is available by calling the Seminole ticket office at 1-888-FSU-NOLE (1-888-378-6653) or (850) 644-1830.
