Four Seminoles Taken On Day One of NFL Draft

Four Florida State football players were taken in the first three rounds on the first day of the 2007 NFL Draft. For the third time in three years the Seminoles had a player taken in the first round as linebacker Lawrence Timmons was selected 15th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Following Timmmons selection, the second FSU player taken by the Steelers in three years - Bryant McFadden in the second round of 2005 draft - three Seminoles went in the third round. The first was linebacker Buster Davis, who went to the Arizona Cardinals with the 69th pick.

Two picks later running back Lorenzo Booker stayed in the state when he was taken by the Miami Dolphins. Rounding out Florida State's first day selections offensive tackle Mario Henderson, the 91st selection by the Oakland Raiders. Last year the Seminoles had five players taken on the first day, including four in the first round.
